Impact Aid subsidizes public schools for loss of revenue associated with non-taxed federal lands, such as military bases, forest lands, reservations, and all other public non-taxed lands. Funding count is based on students who reside on tribal lands south of the school district. The district works with two chapters: Nageezi and Huerfano, Navajo Housing Authority, and the District American Indian Parent committee members to get verification of student count.
The purpose of the federal portion of the Impact Aid received by the district is to meet the needs of at-risk students. Title VIII Impact Aid funds partially fund a variety of district personnel.
The Title VIII Impact aid parent advisory council is comprised of parents/guardians of students in Bloomfield Schools.
The Indian Policies and Procedures are established as a communication tool between the school and community.
