Bloomfield Schools Substitute Teacher Requirements
Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher for the Bloomfield School District.
If You Are Already Licensed
We are currently seeking candidates who hold an active Substitute Teaching License with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).
If you are currently licensed and would like to be added to our substitute teacher list, please contact:

If You Are New to Substitute Teaching
Before contacting the Bloomfield Schools Human Resources Department, you must begin the process of obtaining your NMPED K–12 Substitute Teaching License.
- Apply Online
Visit the NMPED licensure portal:
https://licensureapp.ped.state.nm.us/login
- When prompted for the Superintendent Verification Form, skip this step. Human Resources will assist you with this after you complete your observation hours.
- Complete the full application, including payment.
- Complete Required Background Checks
Two background checks are required—one for NMPED licensure and one for Bloomfield School District.

- Submitted your NMPED license application

Please note, NMPED may require a resume or proof of experience working in education or childcare field in order to issue a NM K-12 Substitute Teaching License.
